  >> "urgent whispers / murmúrios urgentes" is a 300-page bilingual book dedicated to the work of suzanne vega. it was published and released only in my country, portugal, in 1994.

  >> it contains the lyrics of suzanne's first four albums, some of her prose writings, and a first chapter with childhood poems and songs written before the release of her eponymous debut album - this first chapter includes material which remained unreleased until the publishing of vega's own book, "the passionate eye", in 1999.

  >> all of the above material appears in both english and portuguese translation.

  >> there's also a 30-page long interview i did with suzanne in new york, two texts i wrote myself and photos i conceived for this particular project (those photos are found only in the book and are different from any of these here in 'watermarks'). the interview and texts are only in portuguese in the book, but here you can read the original english version of the interview and my texts turned into english.
